Beatrice Birir, Research Staff: Past

Beatrice Birir has a Bachelor of Science in Informatics from Strathmore University (Nairobi) and is currently a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University Africa where she is pursuing her Master of Science in Information Technology degree. While at KCRC she worked as a Research Intern working with our Japanese and American partners, to study several aspects of a drone project in Rwanda. To facilitate this research both a ground-based and aerial drones were used at a farm near Kigali. She is now working with a team of two students and three professors to write a paper on the findings. Birir’s research interests are how data science can be used to to improve people’s lives.
